Staffordshire pub reopens after £305k makeover

A pub has reopened after a £305,000 makeover. Proper Pubs – which is part of Admiral Taverns – has transformed The Steeplechase, in Uttoxeter.

The Bridge Street venue now has new furniture, flooring, fixtures and fittings as well as six 65-inch televisions – with the exterior repainted and upgraded lighting installed. The beer garden boasts an 85-inch TV.

The Steeplechase operator Adam Hollinshead said: “I’m absolutely thrilled with how the refurbishment has turned out – the pub looks absolutely amazing and it was such a joy welcoming the community back through the doors. I look forward to everything the future holds.”

Proper Pubs operations director Matthew Gurney said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Adam to The Steeplechase – his energy and passion for the pub is fantastic and he has been great to work with throughout this entire process.
