North Staffordshire pub back open after 59-day makeover

The sports bar is now open

A town centre pub has reopened after a 59-day makeover. The Red Lion, in Leek, had been shut since New Year’s Eve following the departure of the licensee and a brewery-led makeover.

But the Market Place venue reopened over the weekend.

In a social media post to punters, the venue stated: “We can’t wait to welcome you all to the newly-refurbished Red Lion Leek. Exciting times are ahead.

“The Red Lion is roaring back to life under new management after a stunning refresh and revamp. Transformed into your new favourite sports bar with brand new interiors including dart boards, pool table and big screens, but with the same warm welcome.

“Whether you’re watching a big game, enjoying a drink, catching up with friends, or embracing the live music, there’s never been a better time to rediscover what makes The Red Lion the go-to place for sport, entertainment and good company in Leek.”
