The latest round-up of appointments from across Staffordshire

Trentham law firm RJS Solicitors has welcomed Tom Newman as a corporate solicitor.

Tom qualified at a boutique firm in Chester in August 2015, where he remained as a part of a busy corporate and commercial department for five years.

The corporate team advises on mergers and acquisitions, company re-organisations and business transfers, all types of commercial matters, including shareholders’ agreements, terms and conditions, franchising work and intellectual property.

Tom said: “I’m excited to join RJS’s corporate team. I’ve been really impressed with the profile of clients that the firm works with, and with the team’s commitment to providing a great service to those clients. I’m looking forward to helping them take that commitment even further forward over the months ahead.”

IT solutions specialist D2NA has announced a major reshuffle within its management team.

After taking two-year break, founder Jonpaul Sargent returns to take the reigns as managing director at the Longton business, following the departure of Matthew Satongar.

While Graham Doyle, who founded the company with Jonpaul back in 2005, will focus on developing cyber security services through their partner network.

JonPaul said: “It’s great to have the winning team back together. We built the business together for over a decade and now we’re excited to ramp up the opportunities in cyber security and managed services.”

Graham added: “We launched in 2005 with a passion for service and innovation, and found a niche helping IT teams to achieve their organisation’s technology goals. Today, we still do that, but we’ve found a new niche helping managed IT service providers build client loyalty with security services such as cyber essentials, penetration testing, managed detection and response, and incident response.”

The New Vic Theatre has appointed Vicki Amedume as associate director.

In her new role, Vicki will explore artistic opportunities, working alongside New Vic artistic director Theresa Heskins, and look after the theatre’s artist development programme.

In addition, she will support the New Vic’s creative people and places programme, Appetite; input into the theatre’s education and borderlines outreach programmes; and develop other projects.

Vicki said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the fantastic team at the New Vic as an associate director. My own company Upswing has had an evolving collaborative relationship with the theatre since Theresa Heskins first invited us to work together on The Wicked Lady.

“Each collaboration since has explored new ground in the crossover of circus and theatre. I hope this appointment will support the ambition to keep the circus spirit growing and enriching the brilliant work produced both inside and outside the building.”

Theresa added: “Vicki has very much felt like one of the New Vic team for some time now, having worked with us many times over the last decade to make some extraordinary pieces of work. I’m so thrilled that she is now formally joining the team.”

Mounsey Chartered Surveyors has appointed experienced surveyor Chris Maydew to the team.  

Chris has joined the Festival Park business having worked in the Staffordshire and South Cheshire property markets for the last eight years. 

Company managing director Richard Mounsey said: “We are delighted that Chris has joined us. He is a great appointment and fits in really well with our team.

“His local experience and profile are a welcome addition to us as we continue to build our expanding business with key appointments.”

The appointment takes the property consultancy’s headcount to 11 in what is its 10th year in business this year.

Burntwood-based SMART balustrades has bolstered its team with the addition of new sales estimator, Josie Oliveri.

The appointment is the second new hire for the business in the last six months, bringing the team to seven.

In her new role, Josie will be responsible for providing estimates for the firm’s national client base in the commercial and residential sectors.

Josie, who is from Wolverhampton, said: “Joining the SMART Balustrades team as a sales estimator is an exciting time for me. I have worked in the balustrades industry for many years and know the product and sector very well.

“The SMART Balustrades team are fantastic; leaders in their industry and incredibly welcoming. I’m looking forward to developing new client relationships and contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.”
