Rudyard Lake Steam Railway back open for 2024 this weekend

A tourist attraction is back for 2024 – from this weekend. Rudyard Lake Steam Railway is now under new ownership.

It follows Simon Clarke – the previous owner of the miniature steam railway – last year putting the business up for sale with a £495,000 price-tag. It has now been snapped up by a Norton man who used to volunteer at the railway as a youngster.

In a social media message to families, Rudyard Lake Steam Railway said: “We are pleased to announce our reopening this Saturday and you are invited. Come along for a train ride, something to eat in our cafe, and enjoy the beauty of Rudyard Lake. Trains are running from 11am and 4pm and our cafe will also be open.”
