Heartwarming Half Term Activities at The Potteries Centre This February

17 February @ 11:00 am - 21 February @ 4:00 pm

Free

This February, The Potteries Centre is celebrating love in all its forms with a packed schedule of heartwarming events and activities available to the local community. Whether you’re a Valentine or Galentine, there is something for everyone – families and couples alike can enjoy the opportunity to shop for the perfect gifts for loved ones, get creative, make memories, and support a fantastic cause.

Visitors can purchase a padlock, personalise it with their initials, and secure it to the bespoke fence, located by Clintons on Level 5, as a symbol of their love. All proceeds from the sale of the locks will go directly to the centre’s charity partner this February, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), helping to support their vital work in raising awareness and preventing sudden cardiac deaths in young people.

As part of the Centenary year and in honour of the history of pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, the centre is also teaming up with Love Clay, offering families a chance to unleash their creativity during the half term (17th – 25th February).

Monday 17th, Wednesday 19th & Friday 21st February – 11am to 4pm

  • Families can join Love Clay with sessions on hand building with air drying clay to take home

Tuesday 18th & Thursday 20th February – 11am to 4pm

  • Families can paint a porcelain pot, fill it with soil and add a plant to take home.

Visitors can enjoy a FREE 30-minute clay modelling or pot painting session and take home a handmade keepsake to cherish forever.

Younger visitors can also get involved with the kiln colouring sheets which, on completion, will be displayed in a shop window.

In addition, visitors can also take a selfie in the Valentine’s themed selfie bench, also located on Level 5 in the centre.

Amy Whittaker, Centre Director at The Potteries Centre, commented: “We’re thrilled to celebrate love this February with an exciting line-up of events for the whole community. From creating heartfelt keepsakes with loved ones to showing support for an incredible cause like Cardiac Risk in the Young, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
